This series of photocopiable books has been designed to help children develop as members of society. Concerned with issues such as right and wrong, fairness, democracy and equality, it helps them think and talk about concerns in their own lives and the lives of others around them.
Citizenship is combined with PSHE aiming to prepare children as citizens whilst at the same time teaching them the rules for a safe and healthy lifestyle. It is designed to develop their social skills and help them share, take turns and resist bullying as well as taking more responsibility for their actions.
Pupils with special educational needs require work that is simple and straightforward. It does however still need to fulfil the requirements of the national curriculum and must therefore be structured to meet those needs. Most activities on the sheets can be extended by group discussion and further work.
